You would have thought now that I’m at home with the twin pups all day I’d have all the time in the world to give my blog some love. Well. What can I say. Maybe I’m not as efficient as I thought I’d be but there’s absolutely no time to think about a write-up so here’s some pics from North Wales, of the van, a scenic train ride and Maisie [because if you look at my Insta feed right now you'd be forgiven for thinking she'd been kicked out.......].

The site: Bwych yn Uchaf. We paid £16/night without EHU which I think is a little on the high side for what you get. Considering our location though (in a little niche along the river) I did not mind that much. It’s right next to Llanuwchllyn train station from where you can jump onto an open carriage steam train taking you directly to Bala. What a great way to travel, even with dogs. We took the train in then walked back and ended our little adventure with a pint in the local. Perfect!

By the way – are you seeing adverts at the bottom of my post…..? The greedy people at WordPress want me to pay $30 to get rid of them?! Considering I have already paid to register my domain I don’t think that’s good business. Or am I being unreasonable and underestimating how much I’m actually getting for my dosh? What do you think?

  1. Howdy pal! Hey a quick comment about your question re: advertising at the bottom of the page… The “mute” button on the TV remote (TV = Telly in UK speak) was invented by someone like me who just instantly shuts off their brain for advertising and commercials. So, no worries, I wouldn’t even notice if they were there or not. Oh, and may I say (again) beautiful images. Thank You.

  2. Looks like a nice site that one, den by the river. Cracking photos as always but still waiting to see the photos of the pups :)
Hoping to treat myself to a new DSLR this week do I can start to take proper photos as well.
Not seeing any adverts but it does seem a little cheeky to pay to get rid of them if you’re already paying them some dosh for a personal domain

    • The pups. Well. Taking pictures of still landscapes is one thing. Taking pics of the pups is another…….I’ve only managed iPhone shots so far (mainly of them sleeping lol) and some cheeky vids [my main playground is on Instagram so if you're into your new social media then look me up on http://www.instagram.com/babsboardwell for puppy overload.....]. What camera are you getting? I soooooooooooooooo wanted new filters, lenses and maybe even a bigger camera but most of our disposable cash has gone on the dogs and the bathroom :( Maybe next year I can part x my trusted D5000 for something that has a little more pixels ;) By then you’ll be photographer extraordinaire no doubt :)

      • I’d forgotten to reply, very bad of me :)
Those pups are gorgeous, I’ve gone all mushy and broody again
Camera – it’s a Canon D60 with a Sigma 18-250 lens. Still working out how to use it but having great fun playing about with it. Need some decent light though, been relentlessly dull since I bought it

      • I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it in no time. and before you know it you’ll be talking filters, dreaming lenses & positioning your *subjects*. You’re already talking about the light so you’re half way there :)
