With love on Valentines day; World’s End –> North Wales

My husband is the best!

Inspired by this gorgeous picture, I’ve been dreaming about a van night shot for quite some time now. I wanted: mountains! romance! candles! and stars! of course. But I didn’t know where. Or when. Then suddenly it dawned on me: what better time for darkness, candles, romance & stars than Valentines Day ♥

Of course not everything went exactly according to plan. The mountains I were after lie behind the van…..there was some snow on the ground and even the spot we chose for parking the van was already a little precarious, to say the least. Candles. Welllllll. As anyone in the UK will know, the recent weather has been, errrrrrr, a *little* awful. And although I thought I knew best I simply couldn’t get them to stay lit.

Following some severe weather during the week and more bad weather forecast for the remainder of the week, I decided to bring my shoot forward and so Valentines Day at Van HQ happened yesterday ♥

And would you look at that moon!? Who would have thought it has rays like the sun??? Absolutely beautiful!

By the way. I say *my* shoot but all of these pictures were actually taken by Rich, with a little edit from me. Here’s one of the original pics:

So there we have it. Happy Valentines Day from North Wales ♥

  1. Hi there both. Glad you had a Romantic Valentine’s evening. Your pictures say it all anyway. But regardless of the weather I bet you were warm and cosy in your Mobile home. I love caravan hols. Thanks for sharing your wonderful evening.

      • How are your pups these days I bet they are fast growing now.? Would love to see them with their flashing collars you mentioned.

  2. Amazing photos. I need to get out and do some night shoots. I have my remote shutter release now just need a decent tripod. That first photo is a prize winner :)

    • You think? Yes, more night shoots are definitely on the agenda this year. Video skills might have to improve as well (I mean, how boring is the one above lol but at least it gives you the *right* impression of what things really looked like :) I have been following your *long walk* posts and can see a definite improvement in your picture skills ♥

      • Thank you kindly! :)
Your tips on the use of ISO were helpful I was always edgy about cranking up the setting for fear of grainy images but it’s not been a problem. I’m getting there slowly…..
